• First, do deep ploughing once with a soil turning plow.

• After this, do light plowing after 2 to 3 days. Use native plow or cultivator for light tillage.

• After plowing, make the soil of the field friable and level.

• Manure and fertilizers should be used according to the nutrients present in the soil.

• Generally, 26 kg of nitrogen, 22 kg of phosphorus and 16 kg of potash are required per acre of field for the cultivation of these crops.

• Use full quantity of potash and phosphorus and half quantity of nitrogen while preparing the field.

• Distribute the remaining nitrogen in 2 parts and spray it on the standing crop.

• After that prepare the beds in the field. Keep a distance of 2.5 to 3 meters between the beds.
