How to control pests in soybean crop

Some major pests that damage soybean crop

• Tobacco caterpillar: These pests attack plants during the night and migrate to the soil during the day. They eat the green matter by scraping the leaves. As the infestation of the pest increases, small holes start appearing. After some time the leaves turn yellow and start falling on the leaves. To control this pest, spray 180 ml spinatorum 11.7 sc per acre of land. This medicine is available in the market under the names Delegate, Largo, etc. Apart from this, 300 grams of Thiodicarb 75% WP (Brand Name- Lervin or Chemvin) can also be sprayed.

• Whitefly: This insect sucks the sap of leaves. Due to which the leaves start shrinking and after some time the leaves turn red and fall. Female insects lay eggs in groups on the underside of leaves. To control this pest, install 4 to 6 pheromone traps per acre of land. Along with this, mix 50 ml country hawk in 150 liters of water per acre and spray it on the plants.

• Stem borer insect: These insects make holes inside the stems, twigs and branches and make tunnels inside. Due to which the plants become weak and dry up. Spray 150 ml Chlorantraniliprol 185 SC to control this pest.

• Black ladybug: This insect feeds on the flowers of soybean. Along with this, grains do not form in the beans due to the outbreak of this insect. To control this pest, spray 800 grams of Acephate 75 SC per acre of land. Re-spray if required at an interval of 10 days.
