What to do for good growth of chilli crop?

Due to its pungent taste to enhance the taste of various dishes, there is always a demand for chillies. In such a situation, the farmer cultivating chillies should use fertilizers along with some measures for the good development of chilli plants. Through this post, you can get information about the work to be done for the good development of chilli crop.

irrigation

  • Irrigation should be done according to the moisture and rainfall present in the soil.

  • Irrigation is usually done at an interval of 10 to 12 days.

  • Irrigation is very important at the time of flowering in plants. If proper amount of irrigation is not given at the time of flowering, the flowers start drying up and the size of the fruit also remains small.

  • Make sure that there is no water logging in the field.

Nutrients

  • While preparing the field add 10 tonnes of compost per acre of field.

  • Instead of compost manure, cow dung manure can also be used.

  • Apart from this, apply 30 kg urea, 50 kg DAP and 35 kg MOP per acre of field at the time of final tillage.

  • To protect the plants from soil borne diseases, mix 250 gm Rootguard or 2 kg Trichoderma Viridi 1.5% WP per acre of field.

Weed

  • Due to excessive weeds, the plants do not get proper amount of nutrients.

  • To control weeds, do the first weeding at an interval of 20 to 25 days.

  • Second weeding should be done at an interval of about 35 to 40 days.
