• Before sowing, treat the seed with Carbendazim @ 2 gm per kg.

• Apart from this, treat 8 grams of Trichoderma per kilogram of seed.

• Select varieties resistant to root rot.

• Select RG 18, ca 9 and ca 10 varieties of indigenous cotton. These varieties are tolerant to root rot disease.
