Chilli: How to get rid of the problem of flower fall

Like tomato, brinjal, etc., there is a problem of flower fall in chilli crop. As the problem progresses, many times the fruits start falling along with the flowers. What causes flower drop?

  • Flowers start falling due to lack of moisture in the environment and high temperature.

  • Lack of moisture in the soil at the time of flowering is a major cause of flower drop.

  • This problem also occurs due to strong sunlight during the flowering of plants.

  • Even if there is a lack of nutrients, the flowers start falling.

How to prevent flowers from falling?

  • There should not be a lack of moisture in the soil at the time of flowering. Therefore, apply light irrigation in the field at this time.

  • To meet the deficiency of nutrients, add 50 to 60 grams of rotted manure, compost manure or vermi compost per plant.

  • Spraying of 25 grams Nano-Red and 5 grams Agvital in 15 liters of water can also prevent flower drop.

  • Apart from this, spraying by mixing 30 ml Arista in 15 liters of water reduces the problem of flower drop.

  • These medicines can be used 2 to 3 times at an interval of 15 days as per requirement.

  • Spraying of medicines in the evening gives better results.

  • Spraying after mixing 2 ml Fruit Plus in 15 liters of water increases the number of fruits in the plants.
