Cucumber disease in chilli crop and ways to avoid it

Kukda disease is known by many names in different regions like Ghurcha disease, Bandha disease, Leaf twist disease, Churda-murda disease, Leaf curl etc. Due to this disease, there is a lot of damage to the chilli crop. cause of disease

  • If the seed is not treated before sowing then the chances of getting this disease increases.

  • Apart from this, prolonged drought, delay in monsoon, prolonged planting of plants in nursery are also the causes of this disease.

  • Virus is one of the main reasons for the occurrence of this disease.

  • Cucumber disease is also caused by pests such as thrips and mites.

  • White flies spread this disease from one plant to another.

symptom of disease

  • The leaves of the plants affected by this disease start turning upwards or downwards.

  • Thrips causes leaves to curl upwards.

  • Due to the infestation of mite, the leaves start turning downwards.

  • Leaves and leaf veins become thick.

  • Affected plants start to look like bushes.

  • Due to this viral disease, the growth of plants stops and the plants bear less fruit.

preventive measures

  • Destroy the plants if they show signs of canker disease.

  • Before sowing the seed, one time deep plowing of the field must be done.

  • If there are disease-affected plants in the field, destroy them.

  • Select certified and disease free seeds.

  • If thrips is being caused due to thrips, then sprinkle 30 ml Trizophos 40 EC per liter of water.

  • If this disease is being caused by mite, then spray 40 ml propargite 57% per liter of water.

  • To get rid of white flies, sprinkle 5 ml neem oil per liter of water.
