Cowpea can be grown in summer season along with Kharif and Rabi.

For cultivation in Kharif, sow it in the month of June to July.

For Rabi cultivation, it is sown in the month of October to November.

In plains, cowpea can be cultivated from February to October.
Method of preparation and amount of fertilizer

Plow the field once deep.

After this, to make the soil friable, do light plowing for 2 to 3 times and apply pata.

At the time of last plowing, apply 12 kg nitrogen, 20 kg phosphorus and 16 kg potash per acre of field.
