Fertilizer Management in Paddy Nursery

While preparing the nursery of paddy for healthy plants, it is very important to use manure and fertilizers in proper quantity. Due to not using the right amount of fertilizers, there is a lack of nutrients in the paddy plants. Which has a direct effect on the yield of paddy.   • While preparing the nursery, first of all make the soil fine by plowing.

  • After this prepare beds of 1.25 m wide and 8 m long.

  • Mix 225 g urea and 500 g single super phosphate in each of the beds.

  • Many a times farmers do not use zinc in nursery. Due to which the chances of getting Khaira disease in the plants increases.

  • To protect the plants from Khaira disease in nursery, use 50 gm zinc sulphate in 10 square meter area.

  • If symptoms of Khaira disease are seen in standing crop, sprinkle 800 grams zinc sulphate and 400 grams slaked lime in 180 liters of water.

  • Irrigate the nursery after 2 to 3 days of sowing the germinated seeds.
