Green Peas: Seed Quantity, Seed Treatment and Method of Sowing

Protein, carbohydrate, phosphorus, fiber, potassium and vitamins are found in abundance in peas. To get good yield of peas, it is very important to treat the seeds before sowing. • 40 kg of seed is required per acre of field.

• Treat seed with 4 g Trichoderma viridi or 2 g Carbendazim per kg seed 24 hours before sowing.

• For better crop, treat seed with 2 gm Countryside Seed Guard per kg of seed.

• Peas should be sown in the beds.

• Keep a distance of 45 cm between all the beds and 10 cm distance between plant to plant.

• Sow the seeds at a depth of 4 to 6 cm. If sowing deeper than this, there is a problem in germination.

• Seed drill can also be used for sowing peas.

• Irrigate at an interval of about 7 to 10 days.
