Increase Gourd Yield by 3G Cutting

Through 3G cutting, the main stem and branches are cut to get more fruits from the same plant. Apart from bottle gourd, this method is also used in plants like Pumpkin, Luffa, Bitter gourd, Cucumber, Watermelon, Okra, Brinjal, Chilli, etc. With the help of this technique, more than 100 fruits can be obtained from one gourd plant. If you are not aware of 3G cutting technology then read this post carefully. From here you can get information about 3G cutting techniques to increase the yield of gourd. Let's get into detail on 3G cutting.

Suitable time for 3G cutting

  • After transplanting the seeds, 3G cutting can be done when 10 to 12 leaves appear in the plants.

  • When the length of the main stem is about 60 cm, 3G cuttings can be done in the plants.

The right way to cut 3G

  • For 3G cuttings, choose a plant that is at least 20 to 30 days old.

  • If small branches are coming out from the ground surface to 7-8 leaves in the main stem emerging from the root, then cut them and separate them.

  • After 10 to 12 leaves appear in the main stem, cut off the upper part of the stem. By doing this, the length of the plant will stop and new branches will come in the plants.

  • The branches that emerge after cutting off the upper part of the main stem are also harvested.

  • Apart from the two branches coming out of the upper part of the main stem, cut off all other small branches.

  • After a few days, many branches will also emerge in both the branches coming out of the main stem. Except for a few branches, cut off all other branches.
