Khet Talab Yojana: Get subsidy for making pond

Khet Talab Yojana 2021 has been started for the farmers of the state in Uttar Pradesh with the aim of removing the shortage of water for irrigation and benefiting the farmers from the depleting water level. Under this scheme, 50 percent of the expenditure incurred in the construction of the pond will be given to the farmers as subsidy. The point to be noted here is that farmers will be given a maximum of Rs 52,500 for the construction of a kutcha pond. At the same time, maximum Rs 75,000 will be given to the farmers for the construction of plastic lining pond. Benefits of Khet Pond Scheme

Up to 50 percent subsidy will be given to the farmers for the construction of the pond.
Irrigation of crops will be easy.
The use of tube wells for irrigation will be reduced. This will increase the ground water level.
The construction of the pond will provide relief in the absence of rain or in the event of drought.
Due to excessive rainfall, there will be no water logging in the field. Rain water can be collected in the pond. Which can be used later as per the requirement.
Farmers can earn extra income by doing fish farming or duck rearing in the pond.

Terms and Conditions for Khet Talab Scheme

The benefit of this scheme can be availed only by the natives of Uttar Pradesh.
Applicants must be above 18 years of age.
A person will be given subsidy for the construction of only 1 pond.
Application can be made through online only.
The subsidy amount will be given in the bank account. So applicants are required to have a bank account.
Preference will be given to applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities and Small, Marginal Category.
