Know about some of the pests and diseases that damage carrots.

Carrots are used for salads, puddings, pickles and vegetables. It is necessary to keep the carrot crop free from diseases and pests. If this is not done, the crops may get ruined and farmers may suffer. So you should know about some such pests and diseases which damage the carrot crop.

  • Sclerotinia wilting: The leaves of plants suffering from this disease turn yellow and start falling. Mixing one kilogram of carbendazim 50 in one thousand liters of water can get rid of this disease by spraying.

  • Alternaria blight: In this disease yellow or brown spots are formed on the leaves. To avoid this, spraying should be done by mixing 0.2 percent copper oxychloride or Mancozeb in 500-600 liters of water.

  • Cercospora foliar blight: Due to the outbreak of this disease leaves curl and flowers also start shrinking. This disease can be avoided by spraying 3 kg of Kavach or Mancozeb in about 1000 liters of water.

  • Powdery disease: Due to this disease, white colored powder is formed on the plants. Spraying by mixing 50 ml carathane in 100 liters of water gives relief from this disease.

  • Carot Weevil: These white colored insects damage the crop by piercing the upper part of the thunderstorm. To avoid this, in 3 liters of water, 1 ml inidacloprid 17.8 sl. Mixing should be done.

  • Rust fly : This type of insect makes tunnels in the roots of plants, due to which the plants dry out quickly. 2.5 liters of chlorpyrifos 20 EC per hectare of land. Spraying gives relief from this pest.
