Major varieties and yields of capsicum
In our country, capsicum is cultivated in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka etc. Being ready in about 2 to 3 months, farmers can earn more profit by cultivating capsicum. Before cultivating it, it is necessary to know about some major varieties and yields.

California Wonder: It is included in the improved varieties of capsicum. Its plant is of medium height and the color of the fruits is green. Its first harvesting can be done about 75 days after transplanting. About 72 to 80 quintals of capsicum is produced per acre of land.

Pusa Deepti: This variety was developed in the year 1997. It is one of the Shankar varieties. Its plant is medium sized bushy. The fruits of this variety of capsicum are light in color which turns into dark red color after ripening. It is ready for harvesting 70-75 days after transplanting. The yield of capsicum is 120 to 140 quintals per acre of land.

Yellow Wonder: Plants of this variety are of medium height and broad leaves. It can be harvested about 70 days after transplanting. If it is cultivated per acre of land, about 48 to 56 quintals of capsicum can be obtained.

Solan Hybrid 2: This is one of the quick maturing varieties. It can be harvested 60 to 65 days after transplanting. The average yield per acre of land is 130 to 150 quintals.

Solan bountiful: Harvesting can be done 70-75 days after transplanting. Its fruits are dark green in colour. The weight per fruit of this variety is 50-60 grams. About 120 quintals of capsicum can be obtained per acre of land.
Apart from this, there are many other varieties of capsicum as well. In which varieties like Solan Hybrid-1, Arka Gaurav, Arka Mohini , Alankar, Hari Rani, Green Gold are included.
