Mango tree, which is among the most liked fruits, is prone to outbreaks of mealy bug, fruit fly, thrush insect, stem borer insect, etc. Due to their infestation, mango trees and fruits suffer a lot.   • These insects make small holes in the trunk and branches of the tree.

  • These insects feed on the stem by piercing it from the bottom to the top, due to which the inner part becomes like a hollow tunnel.

preventive measures

  • These insects are attracted by light. Therefore, to get rid of it, put pheromone trap.

  • Clean the tree with the help of a brush at an interval of every 15 days.

  • Clean the soil and bark dust from the twigs.

  • Dip kerosene oil or petrol in cotton and pour it into the tunnels made by the insect.

  • Pour 20 to 25 drops of chlorpyriphos concentrated solution in all the tunnels and close the tunnel mouth with wet soil.

  • Apart from this, you can also spray by adding 2 ml Chlorpyriphos per liter of water.
