National Edible Oil Mission started, oil prices will be curbed

Oil prices in our country are constantly increasing. Prime Minister Modi has launched the 'National Edible Oil Mission' with an aim to curb rising oil prices and increase the income of farmers.
Announcing the National Edible Oil Mission Palm Oil, Prime Minister Modi said that under this scheme, about 11 thousand crore rupees will be invested by the government. The introduction of the scheme will boost the production of palm oil and reduce the import of oil. In addition to palm oil, cultivation of traditional oilseeds will also be promoted under the National Edible Oil Mission scheme.
Releasing the ninth installment of the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi, he told the farmers of the country through video conference that 'Today when India is among the 10 largest agricultural exporting countries of the world. But self-sufficiency of wheat, rice and sugar alone is not enough. We have to be self-sufficient in pulses and edible oil. The production of pulses has increased by about 50 percent in the last six years. To make the country self-reliant, now we have to increase the production of edible oils also. For this, all facilities will be made available to the farmers of the country.
Talking about the figures, according to media reports, about 93 lakh metric tonnes of palm oil is consumed annually in India. About 60 percent of which oil is imported. Like pulses, Prime Minister Modi has also appealed to the farmers of the country to make the country self-sufficient in edible oil. It is worth noting that under the 9th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Rs 19,500 crore has been transferred to the accounts of about 9.75 crore farmers. Under this scheme, farmers are given financial benefit of Rs 6,000 annually.
