Paddy hybrids and Basmati varieties

There are many hybrids and Basmati varieties of paddy. Basmati varieties are fragrant. So let's get information about some major hybrids and Basmati varieties , time taken to prepare, yield etc.

Hybrid Varieties: Here you can get information about some of the major hybrid varieties of Dhan.

  • KRH-2 : Cultivated in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttaranchal and Rajasthan, this variety was developed in the year 1996. You can get around 7 tonnes of paddy per hectare of land. It takes 130 to 135 days for this variety of crop to be ready.

  • Narendra hybrid paddy-2: It was developed in the year 1998. It is mainly cultivated in Uttar Pradesh. The crop is ready in about 125-130 days. Generally 6-7 tonnes of crop is produced per hectare of land.

  • Pro Agro- 6444: This hybrid variety was developed in the year 2001 with an average yield of 6 tonnes per hectare. It takes 135 to 140 days for the crop to become ready. It is mainly cultivated in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

  • PHB-71: This variety was developed in the year 1997. On an average 7 to 8 tonnes of crop can be obtained per hectare of land. The crop is ready in about 130-135 days. It is commonly cultivated in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

  • PRH-10: By cultivating this aromatic grain hybrid variety, you can get about 50-55 quintal crop per hectare of field. It takes 125 to 130 days for the crop to become ready.

Basmati Varieties: The rice of Basmati varieties is fragrant as compared to other varieties.

  • Pusa Basmati- 1: This variety of paddy is fragrant. After planting the plants in the field, the crop is ready in 125-130 days. About 40-45 quintals of paddy is obtained per hectare of land.

  • Pusa Sugandh-2: This paddy is included in Basmati varieties. It is less prone to diseases as compared to other rice varieties. By cultivating this variety, you can harvest the crop after 130 to 135 days. Normally 45 to 50 quintal of paddy is produced per hectare of land.

  • Pusa Sugandh-3: This variety of Basmati rice is prone to diseases. Its rice is fragrant. The crop of this variety is ready in about 125 to 130 days. The yield of paddy is 45-50 quintals per hectare of land.

  • Basmati- 370: The crop is ready in about 120-125 days after transplanting of this fragrant variety. Rice grains are thin, long and white. If it is cultivated, about 35-40 quintals of paddy can be obtained per hectare of land.
