Peas: Sowing and Fertilizer Management

Be it pea lentils or vegetables, the faces of people who are fond of eating blossom on hearing the name. The demand for peas, one of our favorite vegetables, starts increasing during the cold season. Due to its increasing demand, farmers get a lot of profit from cultivating it. If you also want to do the cultivation of peas, then from here you can get information about the suitable time for sowing peas, the method of sowing and the amount of fertilizer.

Time of sowing

  • For good yield of peas, sow it in the month of September-October.

  • In high mountainous areas it can be sown in the month of March to June also.

sowing method

  • It is sown in the beds. There should be a distance of 45 cm between all the beds.

  • Keep a distance of 10 cm from plant to plant.

  • Do not sow the seeds too deeply. Sow it at a depth of 4 to 6 cm.

  • Seed drill can also be used for sowing peas.

Fertilizer Management

  • Mix 4 to 5 tonnes of cow dung per acre of field.

  • Take special care not to use raw cow dung in the field. There is a danger of termite breeding in raw dung.

  • Compost manure can also be used instead of cow dung manure.

  • Mix 20 kg nitrogen and 25 kg phosphorus per acre of field.
