Tobacco: Fertilizer Management

Tobacco is cultivated in both Kharif and Rabi seasons. It has a special place in cash crops. To get a good crop, it is very important to have knowledge of fertilizer management. If proper amount of manure and fertilizers are not given at the right time, then its direct effect can be seen on the yield and quality of crops. From here you can get information on fertilizer management for tobacco cultivation.
Fertilizer Management in Nursery

While preparing nursery, apply 140 kg single super phosphate per acre of field.
Fertilizer Management in Main Farm

Instead of chemical fertilizers, manure, compost or vermi compost should be used in the field.

Add 10 tonnes of cow dung or compost manure per acre of field.

While preparing the field, apply 32 kg nitrogen, 60 kg phosphate, 18 kg potash and 34 kg calcium per acre of field.

After transplanting the plants in the main field, apply 80 kg urea per acre of land.

Urea should be used thrice in hard crops.

After the first spray, apply 20-20 kg urea for the second and third time at every 45 days interval.

Make sure that the urea is applied near the roots of the plants.
