Up to 90% subsidy on solar panels
With the aim of doubling the income of farmers by the year 2022, the central government has started several schemes. One of which is the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana. Although this scheme was started in the year 2019. This scheme has been expanded to give more benefits to the farmers in the budget 2020-2021. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, farmers who install solar panels will now be given a subsidy of up to 90 percent. 34,422 crore has been announced by the government on this scheme. Under this, 20 lakh farmers will be helped to install solar pumps.
If farmers want to install solar panels on their land then they have to pay only 10 percent amount. In the bank account of the applying farmers, 60 percent subsidy will be given by the Central Government and the State Government. The remaining 30 percent amount will be given as loan by the bank. Which farmers can pay from their income.

The land in which solar panels are to be installed should be within a radius of 5 km from the power sub-station.
