White Onion Varieties

Bhima Shubhra: This onion is mainly cultivated in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh , Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Odisha and Tamil Nadu. In Kharif it is ready in 110 to 115 days. Whereas in late Kharif, it takes 120 to 130 days to prepare. In Kharif, 72 to 80 quintals per acre of land and in late Kharif, 144 to 168 quintals of crop is obtained per acre of land.

Bhima Shweta: It can be cultivated in both Rabi and Kharif season. It takes about 110 to 120 days to get ready. It can be stored for 3 months. About 72 to 80 quintals of onion is produced per acre of land.

Pusa White Round: This variety of onions are attractive to look after 125 to 130 days after transplanting. The size of its tuber is medium to large. About 130 to 140 quintals of crop are obtained per acre of land.

Pusa White Flat: These onions are flat and round in shape with medium to large size tubers. The crop is ready in about 125 to 130 days. About 130 to 140 quintals of onion is produced per acre of land.

Udaipur- 102: Tubers of this type of onion are round. Its taste is mildly sweet. About 80 to 100 quintals of onion is produced per acre of field.
Apart from this many other varieties like Onion Selection- 131, Onion Selection- 106, Nashik White, White Globe, N-247-9-1, S-48, Agrifound White etc. are also included in the major varieties of white colored onions.
