Time of sowing

15 October to 15 November is the best time for sowing coriander.

Seed quantity and seed treatment

6 to 8 kg of seed is required per acre of field.

While treating the seeds, first of all, cut the coriander seeds into 2 parts.

After that treat seed with 2 gm Bavistin per kg of seed.

Apart from this, 3 grams of Carbendazim per kilogram of seed can also be treated.

Soak the treated seed in water for 24 hours. This makes germination easier.

Apart from Carbendazim, the seed can also be treated with Thiram.

Loam soil, clay soil and alluvial soil are best for the cultivation of coriander.

Dry and cool weather is required for a good crop.

While selecting the field, keep in mind that the soil of the field should have sufficient amount of biomass and good water holding capacity.

The pH level of the soil should be 6.5 to 7.5.

Irrigation and Weed Control

Irrigation of coriander should be done according to the moisture present in the soil.

Give the first irrigation immediately after sowing the seed.

Thereafter, irrigation is given at an interval of 10 to 12 days.

To avoid the problem of weeds in the field, weeding should be done as per the requirement.
harvesting and threshing

The green leaves of coriander should be harvested when the height of the plants is 20 to 25 cm above the ground surface.

In this way you can harvest three to four times at some interval of time.

If coriander has been cultivated to get seeds, then harvest it only when the grains are green.

After harvesting, keep the crop in open sun to dry for 6 to 7 days.

When the crop is completely dry, thresh it and separate the seeds.
