There are many types of maize. Out of which some types of crops are ready in normal period, while some species are ready early. Through this post, we have brought you information about some varieties of maize.

Ganga 5: This hybrid variety of maize takes about 90 to 100 days to get ready. About 50 to 60 quintals of crop can be obtained per hectare of land.

Light: It is one of the early maturing hybrid varieties. It is mainly cultivated in Bihar, Orissa, Eastern Uttar Pradesh. It can be harvested 80-85 days after sowing. About 40 to 45 quintals of maize is produced per hectare of land.

Prakash (JH 3189): It is one of the early maturing hybrid variety. It is cultivated all over India. Crops are ready in 80-85 days. Farmers can get about 25-30 quintals of crop from one hectare of land.

D941 : It is a clustered variety of maize. It is cultivated in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. About 40 to 45 quintals of crop are obtained per hectare of land. It takes 80-85 days for the crop to become ready.

SPV1041: It is cultivated in Madhya Pradesh. Its grains are white in colour. It takes 110 to 115 days for the crops to become ready. About 30-32 quintals of maize is produced per hectare of land.

Strength 1: It can be cultivated all over the country. In this variety of plants, the crop is ready about 90-95 days after sowing. About 50 quintals of maize is obtained per hectare of land.

Out of which Arun, Dhaval, Rajendra Hybrid 1, Rajendra Hybrid 2, Pusa Hybrid 1, Pusa Hybrid 2, Gujarat Maize 2, Mahikanchan, Kiran, Shaktiman, Sweet Corn Madhuri , Prabhat, Chandan 3, Vikram, PAC. 738, Gaurav, Navjyoti etc. are prominent.
