scientific cultivation of marigold flower

Marigold has a special place among flowers. Marigold flowers are used for worship as well as in celebrations like birthdays, weddings and welcoming guests. Apart from this, these days it is being used on a large scale as chicken food. Due to this the quality of the eggs is better and the color of the yolk becomes yellow. Before cultivating marigold, it is very important to know some of its nuances.

soil and climate

  • For its cultivation, loamy soil, matiyar loam soil and sandy loam soil are the best.

  • Marigold can be cultivated in almost all types of climate.

  • For its cultivation, cold, summer and rain can be done in all seasons.

farm preparation

  • While preparing the field, first do deep plowing 1-2 times with earth turning plow.

  • After this, 2 to 3 times do light plowing with native plow or cultivator.

  • Remove pebbles and stones etc. from the field.

  • Now make the soil friable by putting a pad in the field.

  • Make beds in the field for planting the plants.

  • Make proper drainage system in the field.

manures and fertilizers

  • While preparing the field, add 80 quintals of compost per acre of land.

  • To increase the number and quality of flowers, apply 25 kg of Nitrogen, 24 kg of Phosphorous and 25 kg of Potash per acre of field.

  • Apply 25 kg of nitrogen per acre of field 30 to 40 days after transplanting .

Irrigation and Weed Control

  • Irrigate at an interval of 10 to 15 days in cold weather.

  • Irrigation should be done at an interval of 5 to 7 days during the summer season.

  • Weeds can be easily controlled by weeding in the field.

  • Harvest the flowers after they are in full bloom.

  • Flowers should be plucked in the morning and evening.
