Initial diagnosis:

Symptoms of Karnal bunt are often difficult to distinguish in the field due to the fact that incidence of infected kernels on a given head is low.

Symptoms:

Symptoms are most readily detected on seed after harvest as seeds grains either in partially or fully infected condition

Damage type:

the whole grain is converted into black powder of bunt spores.
